“Dr. Revilla has a fun loving spirit, allowing him to create long lasting relationships with his patients and especially with children”

box_DrRussDr. Russell S. Revilla graduated in 1989 from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, Ca. He has been a practicing chiropractor for over 23 years. The first 15 years he partnered in a practice with a college friend in Lemon Grove, CA. They both exclusively treated patients at the acclaimed Optimum Health Institute, also in Lemon Grove, during that time. In 2004, Dr. Revilla joined his wife, Dr. Kimberly Rollheiser-Revilla in her practice in San Marcos, Ca. They now have a growing practice, treating patients from all of San Diego County and even Orange and Riverside counties. It is unique in that they treat patients from their respective areas of expertise, all under one roof.

Dr. Russell Revilla obtained his certification in sport injuries through Los Angeles Chiropractic College since he is a sports jock himself and was a track and field coach in college. Early in his career he had the opportunity to donate his time and services as the exclusive chiropractor at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. He treated all of the athletes training there for a variety of training and injury conditions, helping these world-class athletes to maintain and enhance their growth in their chosen events of competition.

Dr. Revilla also worked with the contestants in the Lakeside Rodeo for eight (8) years. This dynamic environment was almost equivalent to a triage scenario where immediate diagnosis and treatment was commonplace.

These two voluntary endeavors were very different in nature and demand. They helped to refine Dr. Revilla’s skills to diagnose and treat everyday patients with an expertise that could only be obtained through experience.

The skills developed during the voluntary experiences give Dr. Revilla an edge when practicing in the vast personal injury arena. His expansive knowledge in rating disabilities helps him to fight for the true and complete representation and care of his patients.

Dr. Revilla has a fun loving spirit, allowing him to create long lasting relationships with his patients and especially with children. Russell S. Revilla D.C., C.C.S.P.

Dr. Russell S. Revilla’s Personal Story

MammothDear Patients:

My name is Russell Revilla. As a young child I liked to play rough, as most boys do. From time to time, I would wake up in the morning with excruciating neck pain. I couldn’t move my head at all. It was as if it was frozen stiff. It was very scary and miserable. I really didn’t know if I had received some permanent damage and would be like this for life! Luckily, this condition would relax after two or three days and I could continue my normal childhood routines. But this situation became chronic, happening more and more often throughout my childhood and into my teen years.

In high school, the situation got to the point where my parents took me to a medical doctor. I was prescribed medications that I was told would remedy the situation, however, the medications did not work. I continued to have my neck lock on me throughout my high school years. I learned to live with it. The underlying condition was never diagnosed or treated.

One day when I was in college,, I went to the gym for a workout. Guess what? Wham! Neck lock! One of the guys in the gym recommended that I go next door to a chiropractor who had an office next to the gym to see if he could help me. I admit, I was skeptical. But I was also in a lot of pain. So I decided to see the chiropractor to see if he could help me.

Well, lo and behold, he diagnosed the problem then treated me. I was amazed that after a few minutes with this chiropractor I was actually out of pain! I was in absolutely NO PAIN! I now had personal experience that helped me appreciate what chiropractic was all about. The chiropractor explained chiropractic treatments could relieve the condition I had lived with since childhood. I was obviously excited that I could live the rest of my life free of this chronic condition!

I went to college to become an engineer and be like my Dad and work at Rockwell. But on a visit to their offices I saw the engineers in these tiny cubicles. Oh no, not me! So now, back to the drawing board.

My second love was sports. So I thought I would become an Athletic Trainer. That way, I could be around sports and handle injuries and preventative maintenance for those participating in sports. And then a television program changed my life forever.

While watching a preview show for the 1985 Super Bowl, there was a report about one of the San Francisco 49’er players who was receiving chiropractic treatment. And he insisted on getting his treatments everyday leading up to the Super Bowl! This was a world-class athlete who believed in and understood the power of chiropractic, enough to insist that he have his personal chiropractor with him during Super Bowl week. That sealed the deal for me. I was going to become a chiropractor and treat world-class athletes! I could be close to my passion for sports and at the same time make a positive impact on the lives of athletes and others!

So here I am! I went on to become a chiropractor and have been practicing for 23 years now. I have treated world-class athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. I have treated rodeo riders with Lakeside Rodeo. I have gone on to treat youth at various youth organizations through San Diego County that participate in the sports activities that they love.

I really enjoyed my early years as a chiropractor, working with my friend from college and being a weekend warrior. But life moves on and I evolved from the care-free life of youth with sports as the priority to the responsible life of a man where family is the priority. Though I still love and enjoy sports, I am more of a family man now. I watch it more than participate in it! I dedicate my time to my beautiful wife, Kimberly, and our two wonderful sons, C.J. and Bradley. You begin to understand what really matters in life. Your personal life keeps you grounded and helps you understand where you really make a difference.

My wife and I now have a growing practice together in San Marcos, CA. We get to work together everyday helping individuals and families experience the breakthrough I first experienced in college.

I get patients from all walks of life. From grandmothers to college students to 5th graders to infants; business executives to fast food employees and everyone in between. Everyone finds that they need treatment or maintenance from time to time. The spectrum covers those who need acute care to those who need relief from chronic ailments and even those who just want to maintain their health on a daily basis.

I especially look forward to treating children. They hold special places in my heart because I personally understand what can happen if they don’t get the care they need early in life.

I help everyday people who have chosen to perform extraordinary feats. I work with them to create plans that will help them accomplish the athletic achievements they desire to complete. I get such a kick helping anyone who is experiencing pain or discomfort; still, I get that special thrill when an athlete comes in looking for help or relief!

Treating all of my patients, regardless of age or need, is very rewarding and brings a sense of purpose to my life and what I was put on this earth to do. I am honored to help anyone I can if I am able to do so.

Yours in Health,
Russell S. Revilla D.C., C.C.S.P.
