Broiled Grapefruit

Cooking grapefruit mellows the tartness and caramelizes the sugars creating the perfect sour, sweet dessert with great health benefits too. If you have never been a fan of grapefruit this is the perfect introductory recipe to get your feet wet with.

 

Broiled Grapefruit

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Turbinado Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 2 Grapefruit (Sliced in half)

Directions

Step 1
Mix together sugar, cinnamon, and ginger in a small bowl.
Step 2
Preheat oven to broil
Step 3
Place grapefruit halves on cookie sheet with cut sides up. Sprinkle sugar mixture over the top of the slices.
Step 4
Broil until golden brown. Approximately 3 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool slightly and serve.
